Despite her massive profile and long running art career, our expectations and knowledge of what we would see at Yoko Ono’s ‘War is Over (if you want it)’ currently on at Sydney’s MCA, was shamefully minimal. Armed with these minimal assumptions and expectations we headed off for a day out at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

The Art Gallery of NSW’s ‘Sydney Moderns: Art for a New World’ is a grand celebration of the wonderful city of Sydney. The visit encompassed what I love about a day out at the art gallery in providing some artistic eye-candy, while being accidently educational. Leaving a space with a better understanding of modernism, your own city and having had a great aesthetic experience is, in my view, a successful outing.
