Taking inspiration from Oscar Wilde’s play, « Salome », this ink and pen drawing portrays a dystopian scene of « dephallicization ». The female subjects, both portraying different ideologies, Viking and Masonic, are eliminating the male subject’s phallus: an epitome of the Socialist hammer and sickle. Rather than portraying any political commentary, however, this drawing aims to convey the emancipation of femininity in a subversive and psychedelic manner.
