“TWO SIDES” is an authentic contemporary artwork created in a 3D abstract style designed to showcase the two conflicting, yet overlapping sides of the artists’ personality.
One side shows her love for both nature and various indigenous cultures around the globe, in a very disciplined, ordered and structured fashion. This part is influenced by her “Dark Side” or OCD tendencies, however it also beautifully highlights her attention to detail and order.
The other side of the work is a freer, more chaotic style which is a representation of the artists’ appreciation of contemporary and abstract designs. It also showcases the more relaxed and spontaneous way of life that her Irish husband has instilled in their life.
This piece comprises of hundreds of individually hand cut, hand painted paper feathers on one side. Each feather has been painted with different tribal (aztec/celtic etc) motifs specifically arranged on the canvas. The two sides is divided by a strong demarcation line is an acrylic textured abstract painting. Both sides of the art work also reflects something from the order side, for example the flicker of orange on the feathers on the “ordered” side.
The colours used comprise of different textures of blue, black, grey and orange colours on a black canvas background which when combined with a black frame makes this piece a beautiful contemporary piece of art which will add a touch of life and brilliance to any interior.
