Q. How is Artfuly going to drive traffic to my art listings ?

  1. The top ways we gain traffic to artfuly.com are Organic search, Direct traffic, Social media, Referrals / PR / Content marketing and via our Email list, all of which we are constantly building. We also publish a monthly online magazine which generates buzz and engagement.
  1. Organic Search: We have optimised artfuly.com via SEO (Search engine optimisation) so that it has a lot more traffic than the average individual artists website, therefore you are guaranteed exposure to more viewers online. SEO drives organic traffic based on our on-page keywords - for example, a google search such as ‘Buy Abstract Art’. Because we are a large site with 1000’s of pages, we are regularly crawled and indexed by Google. We use SEO to drive organic traffic to your listing based on your artists profile and your artwork details, such as the styles you list in your profile, the style you select for the artwork, and words in your artwork descriptions. We are currently ranked just over 2.65 millionth website in the world on https://www.similarweb.com which is ALL industries and countries, and we’re moving very fast up the charts.
  1. Direct traffic: Artfuly is a brand which is becoming more well known every day. We have good UX (user experience) - Buyers can search for art based on colour, style, size, keyword and price, so this means that you have a captive audience once the buyer has selected their requirements. Interior designers can also use this to curate suitable artworks which can be saved to a Wishlist which is like a self-curated selection of art. We also offer an art advisory service, a ‘see it in a room’ virtual room viewing feature on every artwork page, plus we will superimpose any artwork into a clients image of their room on request (for free).
  1. Social Media: We publicise artists, and give artists tools to quickly publicise themselves too.We share many of the artworks you upload on our social media channels such as Instagram where we have over 10k followers. Artists featured in the magazine get featured in our instagram stories with direct links to their article in the magazine and/or their artist profile on artfuly.com, plus Facebook, twitter, pinterest and linkedin. Each of your artwork uploads to Artfuly.com has social media sharing tools, so that you can upload your artwork to Artfuly and then quickly click and share the art image and all the details to any social media channel you like. (See the animation below for how that works)
  1. Referrals / PR / Content Marketing: We create partnerships and PR (Public Relations content on other websites) and online articles on Artfuly to increase relevant traffic. - An article we published on 5th June 2018, and posted on Facebook for example, received 2,444 views on that Facebook post alone.
  1. Our Email list & Magazine subscribers - We have built up and continue to build our email list who receive the monthly art magazine on the 1st of every month with art discounts inside. The magazine has a global readership and posts based on its contents it are made on all our social media channels all month. The magazine helps art buyers to make an emotional connection with you and understand your process and the value of your art. Links inside the magazine lead the reader to your artists profile on Artfuly where they can also purchase your art. Artists can choose a double page spread in our magazine for €44, or 4 x double page spreads for €148. [Note that the magazine feature is only available to our members who have paid €1/week (€52/year) because the interactive links inside the magazine lead to the artists profile on artfuly.com] Find out more about featuring in the magazine

Q. What is the difference between Artfuly and other online galleries or marketplaces?

Personalised Publicity!

  • Artfuly works hard to publicise our artists individually, and not just throw them into an e-commerce site with thousands of other artists like the big ‘free to upload’ sites do. Those big sites offer artists free listings, BUT they take 35-50% commission and most don’t even arrange the delivery for you! [ask yourself if 50% of the artwork retail price is a high advertising cost - it’s probably at least 3 times the profit you’re making] They have blanket advertising all over the internet, and drive people interested in buying art to their site, so any artists work could sell. Many artists complain that they don’t sell anything on these kind of sites because they are ‘lost’ in 1000’s of other artists
  • We are a boutique business with personalised service for our artists and our buyers. We arrange delivery for artists and each art buyer has a personal art concierge in touch with them to make sure they’re happy and have a real person to speak to anytime necessary.  Happy buyers are most likely to be ‘non-purchase-returners’, so we manage the whole process carefully.
  • We keep our commissions low by charging a small up-front fee for hosting - see this Comparison of fine art selling sites - We are less expensive for your advertising and we offer much more in service.
  • We pay our artists 7-days after delivery to the buyer EVERY TIME (unless the buyer requested a return, in which case we return your artwork). See this artist who is disgruntled with Saatchi - Check out https://youtu.be/wfJ1ekBp4s4
  • We have a monthly magazine with a collection and artists featured in each. Plus all new artworks have a chance to be selected for the ‘New Artworks’ section of the mag (this is included in the €1/week membership)

Q. What services do you have for artists?

  1. An online artists profile with unlimited artwork uploads, a secure global cart and delivery service included for €1 per week. (€52 per year) - this is a 'hosting' fee for your artists profile and all your (unlimited) artwork pages. Full details here - https://artfuly.com/artists/sellartonline
  1. A feature in the magazine - Either a 1 page spread for €44 or a 5 page spread for €148. This includes a LOT of publicity on social media - Read full details.
  1. Stand alone social media posts - €15 for an instagram post leading to your own artists website with matching feed post.  (insert IG image?)

You can renew your membership each year on the anniversary. You can renew for free if you bring 2 artists during that year. Please use this link to recommend artists so your name is recorded and you can claim your free membership year.

Q. How can I be a successful artist?

The most successful artists follow certain strategies to optimise their sales.  We have advice to assist artists to follow best practice to maximise viewers, followers and buyers.
We have embedded these strategies into our services to make it quick and easy for artists to become successful.  We are constantly watching buyer behaviour, conducting interviews with retail and design buyer types to provide them with the kind of site and buying experiences they want. Rachael Page, our Head of UX and founder has 20 years experience in the digital industry - you can see her profile here - https://www.linkedin.com/in/rachaelpage/

Q. Can you give me an idea of how to make the most of/work well with Artfuly?

Yes, all new artists are automatically signed up to our ‘18Tips’ course of 1 email per day covering things you need to know and should be doing to maximise your art sales. There’s also a handbook here, and you can join our linkedin group for regular opportunities here https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8715684/

Q. I saw the video of your pop up exhibition. Can you put me in a show?

We no longer arrange pop-up shows, but we can supply the labels for events, see item 11. in the handbook - so for example you have put your works in a cafe and people can buy them on mobile - you don't have to be present!
Put image of label here
We do regularly put artists into Collections - think of this like a virtual show. Each magazine we publish features a collection such as #emergingstars and we then publicise these collections on our site and social media.

Q. Can I link to my own artists website from my Artfuly profile?

Yes you can link up to your own artists site for an additional €100/year from your artists profile, as long as you implement our ‘BUY’ buttons on every image for sale on your website with a link such as https://artfuly.com/artists/ingethoegersen/love-and-peace (your own links of course). We provide a range of buttons and advice on how to link them on request. (link needed to article)
You can also have a ‘Represented by Artfuly’ badge for your website - https://artfuly.com/magazine/?p=1879
Linking your website to us and vice-versa will increase your websites ranking and traffic because we have a higher domain authority.

Q. Can I use your cart to put a shop on my own artist website?

Yes! This is so easy and it’s FREE! Read how to do this here

Q. What does your commission cover?

We charge a 25% commission on artwork sales to cover us organising the delivery of the artwork (plus cost & admin of return if requested), plus us hosting, building and maintaining the website, paying our developers and all the publicity we do. The rest of us don’t need a salary because we live on love.

Q. Who pays for and arranges delivery (and any returns)?

Artfuly covers all this. Artists only need to package the artwork and include the signed certificate of authenticity, then advise us when it will be ready for pickup. For more info, see ‘How SHIPPING works at Artfuly (for artists)’

Q. What are 'white glove' services?

This is for high-end clients who want us to have an artwork properly installed in their home.  Usually only available in larger cities or towns (The delivery concierge offers these services after a sale is made (where relevant).

If you have any other questions, please ask at info@artfuly.com, and if it’s helpful for other artists, we’ll add your question and answer to this page! We appreciate your contribution to making this page more helpful.
